Subject:- The part of a sentence about which something is said is called subject.

The subject is a noun, pronoun or noun phrase.

There are different types of subjects like-

(a) Simple subject is just one word

(b) Complete subject is the simple subject plus all  modifiers.

(c) Compound subject is made up of more than one subject element.

* Simple subject: Kate is a thin girl.

* Complete subject: Jeffrey's poem about his mother made the class cry.

* Compound subject: Paul and Tommy joined the soccer team at the same time.

Predicate:- What is said about a subject is called predicate.

There are the types of predicates:-

Simple predicate is just a verb, verb string, or compound verb.

Complete predicate consists of the verb plus modifiers and other words that complete the verbs meaning.

Compound predicate has two or more simple predicates connected.
